Ahh! A waterfalls facing the sea! My kind of unique chasing waterfalls! I read that the municipality of Mauban boast more than 20 waterfalls and only a few are accessible for any sort of trekking. Surely this experience finding and reaching Bisibis Falls is not an easy feat and might be categorized as the later. But, surely it was one of the memorable to-date chasing waterfalls experience!

How to get there to Bisibis Falls

From the Mauban Town Proper, you can hail a trike going to Cagsiay III (50 pesos per head). After reaching Barangay Cagsiay III, ask the local to get you to the nearest shoreline where you can hire a boat going to the falls. Do note, as of per writing, Mauban - Real Quezon, connecting road is underway so reaching Barangay Cagsiay III might be a stretch as we had to off load the tricycle then walk/trek an hour or so. You don't need to do that if you had accessed the nearest shoreline bordering Barangay Cagsiay II and III.

Fun part of this was our tricycle-slash-tour guide Kuya Francis was as eager as we are for there were no known groups who attempted such crazy stunt. Kuya Francis also pointed out that its high time to promote barangay Cagsiay I, II and III to provide other forms of income for the fishermen there. Our boatmen was telling stories that due to the road construction and remoteness of the place, it was not easy for them to get any necessities they need. If you bring in the tourist, this will bring progress to the livelihood of people in that place.

Take note though, there is no easy way going to the falls. After the boat ride, you need to swim to the rocky shore to get to the catch basin of the falls. A thrill seekers heart is needed for this.

How to get much out of Mauban's Waterfalls

You can access few easy waterfalls in Mauban like the Dahoyhoy Falls in Barangay Macasin and Hagdan Hagdan Falls in Balaybalay.

Fairly established trail will lead you to the falls. I remember Kawasan Falls of Cebu in some parts of the trail where they were able to create pathway to the falls that was blending in the surrounding. Not much stretch in altering the terrain of the river banks.

Dahoyhoy Falls have a wide catch basin perfect for swimming. Not too deep though

Hagdan Hagdan Falls

We didn't get the chance to get here since our whole morning was eaten up from reaching Bisibis falls then maximizing our time in Dahoyhoy Falls. But this Falls according to the locals features rows of little cascades of waterfalls thus the name Hagdan Hagdan Falls.

How to get to Mauban, Quezon

To go there, ride a Lucena bound bus in Kamias, Cubao, Alabang or Buendia. From Buendia, Jac Liner, Jam Transit, Lucena Liner and Ceres Transport have buses bound to Lucena that stop at Lucena Grand Central  Terminal. Approximately three hours bus ride from Buendia, Pasay (220 pesos).

You can either take the Mini bus from Grand Central terminal (60 pesos) or ride the much faster Van in SM City Lucena Mall (70 pesos).

Thanks team for this unique and incredible experience!
